One of my favourite dish in Singapore has got to be the Soya Sauce Chicken Horfun at Chiew Kee Noodle House!

Chiew Kee Noodle House |
We went at around 6.30pm and they were about to close for the day. My past experience tells me to avoid Wednesdays because they have alternate offs on Wednesdays (and i can never remember which Wednesday it has been lol). They have another level upstairs and during lunch hours, this place is packed!

The boss and his employees |
There was actually a family dispute thus the younger brother runs Chiew Kee while the elder sister runs Chew Kee just a stone throw away from here. Will try that some day and I shall then decide who's a better contender in terms of cooking great tasting Soya Sauce Chicken! =D

Simple layout of tables |
The order always arrives fast and usually takes no longer than 10mins even when the business is busy.

Soya Sauce Chicken Horfun ($3) |
Their Soya Sauce Chicken is flavourful, tender and it always taste well marinated and braised! Great consistency in the taste and standard for the past 2 years I've been patronising them. The horfun is also well cooked making the texture slightly q and firm. Personally, I feel that horfun dips their wonderful soya sauce better than the yellow noodles and horfun helps the flavour of the sauce stand out more.

Their red chilli goes pretty well with the chicken! |

Dumplings soup ($3) |
Their dumplings soup was of great value. Big fat tasty dumplings pretty similar to what I eat at home! The filling contains meat, prawns and the soup is tasty too.
In all, Chiew Kee presents simple fare at a great value in a nice and homely corner in Chinatown. Do visit!
